sign-up under way

December 28, 2012

GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Annie's Project is a national Cooperative Extension workshop series designed to empower women who are farm owners or partners.

Annie's Project will be offered this winter at Penn State Extension — Adams County in Gettysburg, Pa., on Tuesdays, Jan. 15 to March 19.

The sessions focus on five areas of risk management — production, market, financial, legal and human resources — and combine presentations, class discussion, individual and small group activities, and guest speakers who share the day-to-day application of proven risk management techniques and strategies.

Several sessions will be held in a computer lab for participants to gain hands-on skills with software applicable to farm information systems. Annie's Project will help participants write a business risk management plan for their farms and show how to apply workshop information to daily operations.

Cost of the program is $75 per person for all eight sessions. Class size is limited. Advance registration is required by Tuesday, Jan. 8.

To sign up, go to Agsci.psu.edu/annies-project  or call 717-270-4391.
