Aaron Brooks, Brian Stuart and Danny Bertoni are members of and train at the Hagerstown Police Athletic Wrestling club.

They went undefeated at the Virginia Challenge Holiday Duals in Richmond, Va. All three boys had perfect 10-0 records for the weekend, and Danny was awarded the team’s outstanding wrestler award for scoring the most team points.

The Virginia Challenge Holiday dual featuring 32 middle school teams and 24 elementary teams and wrestlers from more than 20 states.

New Year’s Eve dance at Hagestown VFW

Looking for fun plans to ring in the New Year? Look no further then the VFW, 70 E. Washington St., which will host a New Year’s Eve dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31. Live music will be provided by Off The Block, aka OTB.

Annual Christmas Eve cantata rescheduled

The Ebenezer AME Church Senior Choir will present its 37th annual Christmas Eve cantata at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at the church.

The event was postponed from Dec. 24, because of the weather conditions. The theme this year is “Light of the World.” The church is at 40 Bethel St. 

Tobacco Free For Life program begins in January  
The next classes for the Tobacco Free for Life Program is scheduled to start  Thursday, Jan. 3, and meet twice per week on Mondays and Thursdays, Jan. 7, Jan. 10, Jan. 14 and Jan. 17 from 11 a.m. to noon. The classes will take place at Washington County Health Department, 1302 Pennsylvania Ave., and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Western Maryland Hospital Center, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave.
