Winston Kenneth Herbst of Hagerstown, Md., went to be with the Lord on Dec. 23, 2012, at his home.

He was born May 31, 1947, and was the son and preceded in death by Kenneth and Kathaleene (Summers) Herbst. 

Winston was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Jenkins) Herbst; three children, Christopher Herbst, Wendy (Herbst) Foutch and Ryan Herbst; and two grandchildren, Trey and Irie Foutch.

He graduated from South Hagerstown High School and attended Hagerstown Junior College. He was a farmer and worked for P.I.E. Trucking and most recently Beachley Furniture Company. 

Winston was an active youth leader for 40 years. He founded Right Choice Ministries, which captured his heart, and serves as a place for hundreds of youth in our area enriched in Christian fellowship expressed through many outlets, including music and creative arts. He enjoyed the youth and outdoors and wanted to continue to express these same views to the youth through his ministry.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Ringgold Church of Christ, 14414 Barkdoll Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742, at which he served as a member, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, officiated by Pastors Don Conley and Jeff Tomlin. Burial services to be received by family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Right Choice Ministries (RCM), 20204 Old Forge Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742, to help continue the ministry he founded.
