HCC radiography students win awards in essay contest

Five Hagerstown Community College students recently won awards during the Maryland Society of Radiologic Technologies Student Essay Competition.

In this year's essay competition, four HCC students won the top awards, and one HCC student was awarded the Ted Lynch Award.

Essay winners included Jessica Rice, of Hagerstown, who received first place; Jonie Redmond of Westminster, Md., who received second place; Victoria Jennings of Rohrersville, who received third place; and Melinda Benshoff of Chambersburg, Pa., who received honorable mention. 

HCC sophomore Jamie Leese of Shippensburg, Pa., received the Ted Lynch Award for Outstanding HCC Radiography Program Student.

Each year, the Ted Lynch Award is given to sophomore-level students throughout the state who are chosen by their  individual college radiography programs as the most outstanding students within the program.
