Harry Franklin Kendle, 95, of 20112 Beaver Creek Road in Hagerstown, Md., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Broadmore Senior Living at Hagerstown.

Born Friday, March 23, 1917, in Maugansville, Md., he was the son of the late Preston Milford Kendle and the late Martha Isabelle (Stine) Kendle.

He was a farmer all of his life, and also was employed by the Washington County Board of Education as a bus driver, where he was well known as "Happy Harry."

He was a lifelong member of Salem Reformed Church.

Harry's biggest joy was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Imogene "Jean" Kendle; three daughters, Terrace J. "Terri" Baker and late husband, Gerald "Joe," of Boonsboro, Md., Debbie K. Banister and husband, Paul, of Hagerstown, and Ann F. Bean and husband, Fred, of Carlisle, Pa.; one son, Lynn B. Kendle and wife, Paula, of Hagerstown; four sisters, Cora Snowberger of Hagerstown, Doris J. Roberts of Funkstown, Md., Joanne Brining of Hagerstown and Virginia J. Wills of Hagerstown; three brothers, Preston M. Kendle of Hagerstown, Ralph E. Kendle of Mount Lena, Md., and Leon Kendle of Boonsboro; five granddaughters, Laura J. Mills, Patti A. Powers, Cathy J. Miller, Lindsey E. Banister and Betsy A. Bean-Shiposh; three grandsons, Ben S. Kendle, Mark J. Kendle and Robbie S. Bean; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Pauline E. Kendle and Kathryn L. Myers; and brothers, Richard A. Kendle, Robert E. Kendle, Donald E. Kendle and Glenn L. Kendle.

Services will be Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with Pastor Stephen Wagoner officiating. Interment will be at Boonsboro Cemetery, Boonsboro.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
