The Washington County Board of Commissioners honored one outstanding middle school student who received the Youth Meritorious Award during the Nov. 27 meeting.

Morgan Meuse is an eighth-grader at Clear Spring Middle School and the daughter of David and Michele Meuse.

“By every standard, Morgan is one of the most outstanding students who ever attended Clear Spring Middle,” said Earl Meagher, who nominated Morgan for the award. “Morgan has a thorough knowledge of all her school subjects. She has demonstrated a commitment to the total school program. She has been a member of the All County Chorus for two years.

“Morgan has also been actively involved in community activities. These activities include Jump Rope for Heart and volunteering at her grandfather’s church. To summarize, Morgan is intelligent, hardworking and friendly. She has many talents, which she works hard to develop. We are very happy to have her at our school.”

The County Commissioners, through the Office of Community Grant Management, award the Youth Meritorious honor to students who exemplify excellence in the classroom, at home and in the community.
