Lennes Rachel Woodring Snyder, 85, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Williamsport Retirement Village, Williamsport, Md.

Born Nov. 29, 1927, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Humer Ola Sr. and Dorothey Margaret Zombro Williamson.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles W. Woodring, in 1973; and her second husband, Marshal “Peck” Snyder, in 1983.

She was employed with the Washington County Hospital as a dedicated, kind, loving and compassionate nursing assistant until retiring in 1991. Prior to working at Washington County Hospital, she worked as a clerk at Peoples Drugstore in downtown Hagerstown.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She was an extremely creative woman who loved crafts, sewing, dolls, gardening and wildlife.

Survivors include daughter, Thuryle Payton of Hagerstown; daughter, Wreatha Wageley of Falling Waters, W.Va.; son, Aaron Woodring of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; son, Timothy Woodring of Cumberland, Md.; grandchildren, Nadene Grissen, Christopher Payton, Mark Woodring, David Woodring, Brooks Woodring and Connor Woodring; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Alexander and Brooke Grissen, Hollye and Nicole Payton, and Olivia Woodring; sister, Josephine Swain of Hagerstown; and brother, Jerrell Williamson of California.

She was predeceased by three sisters; three brothers; her beloved dog, Scottie; and bird, Skippy.

A memorial service will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at 2 p.m. with the family officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
