Frederick man killed in three-vehicle crash on Interstate 270

FREDERICK, Md. — A Frederick man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 270 in Frederick County, Maryland State Police said.

Peter Anthony Halpert, 47, no address given, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, police said in a news release.

Police did not say where the accident occurred.

Halpert was driving a 2012 Ford Escort that collided with a 2001 Ford Windstar driven by Joseph Grant, 51, of Martinsburg, W.Va., police said. Grant was listed in stable condition at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Md., police said in the release.

Marion Angus Barrie, 60, of Frederick, was driving the third vehicle involved in the crash — a 2005 Lexus RX330, police said.

Barrie was released from Frederick Memorial hospital after evaluation, according to police.

The Maryland State Police CRASH Team was investigating the crash, police said.
