Edward Joe Warner, 84, of 1040 Valley Brook Drive, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at his home.

Born Tuesday, Sept. 11, 1928, in Detroit, Mich., he was the son of the late Joseph Edward Warner and the late Edna (Sisson) Warner.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores June Warner, in 2006, and grandson, Brad Beegle, in 1993, and great-grandson, Silas Warner, in 2010.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He was employed with the City of Hagerstown as a field engineer, retiring in 1993 after 23 years of service.

He was a charter member of the Tri-State Scale Modelers Club, where he served as president and currently as treasurer. He was formerly a member of the Westernaires and Round-a-bouts Dance Clubs.

He is survived by his three daughters, Donna Walchshauser and husband, Mike, of Hagerstown, Candace Barnhart and husband, Ron, of Hagerstown, and Kim Smith and husband, Jeffrey, of Tampa, Fla.; one son, Kirk Warner and wife, Vanessa, of Mercersburg, Pa.; two sisters, Sandra VanAartsen and Karen Hall; two brothers, Gary Warner and Ross Warner; grandchildren, Anthony, Christopher, Angela, Eric and Courtney; 12 great-grandchildren; and loving canine companion, Zoey.

Services will be Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Glenn Yeager officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
