December 17, 2012|Susie Hoffman | Around Funkstown

The City Farmers Market will celebrate the season Saturday with gift giveaways, treats and activities for children. Beginning at 8 a.m., customers can enter for an hourly drawing for gifts donated by vendors.

Santa will visit at 9 a.m. and the market will remain open until 2 p.m.

Children’s activities include ornament making and gift bag decorating.

Mrs. Claus to visit

As if Mrs. Claus doesn’t already have a super busy schedule, she is making an appearance Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Santa’s holiday home at Center Court at Valley Mall. She will share stories and have gifts for children.

Worship tour

After the gifts have been opened and the cookies devoured, the Hagerstown Holiday Tour of Houses of Worship is planned for Wednesday, Dec. 26. The snow date will be Thursday, Dec. 27.

From 4 to 8 p.m., residents can take a self-guided walking tour of 16 houses of worship, plus the historic Miller House.

The tour will include seasonal decorations with historic and architectural interpretation, as well as holiday music.
