Lions Club holds party for Little League

The Sharpsburg Lions Club held a Christmas party for Sharpsburg Little League Dec. 6 at the Lions’ Den at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg.

Team members, along with their families and manager Troy Keller attended the spaghetti dinner “with all the trimmings.”

Each boy was presented with a gift bag and, in return, manager Keller presented Lions President Shelva Lohman with a plaque of appreciation for the Lions Club’s fifth year of Little League sponsorship.

The Sharpsburg Lions meet the first and third Thursdays of the month at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 209 W. Main St., Sharpsburg.

Fire company to hold basket bingo

Potomac Valley Fire Co. in the community of Dargan will hold a basket bingo Saturday at the fire hall.

Doors open 11 a.m. and bingo begins at 1 p.m.

Tickets cost $15 for a nine-pack.

Special games and extra packs will be available.

The kitchen will be open.

Barone to speak to Confederate Veterans

John Barone will speak to the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Battle of Sharpsburg Camp No. 1582, Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 7 p.m. at Sharpsburg Town Hall.

Barone will talk about his ancestor who fought in both the Italian and American Civil Wars.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

Ruritan to hold spaghetti dinner

The Rohrersville Ruritan will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Rohrersville School House at 20123 Rohrersville School Road.

Tickets cost $7 for adults and $3 for those ages 3 to 8. The building is handicapped-accessible.
