Tanner Beal of Hagerstown re-elected VP of Saint Vincent's student government association

LATROBE, Pa. — Tanner C. Beal of Hagerstown was one of four Saint Vincent College students who were named officers of the Student Government Association Executive Board for 2013.

Beal was named vice president.

Beal, a 2010 graduate of Saint Maria Goretti High School in Hagerstown, is the son of Karen Divelbiss of Hagerstown and Christopher Beal of Kill Devil Hills, N.C. Beal is a junior criminology, law and society major with a minor in Spanish.

He has served as vice president of the Student Government Association Executive Board, a member and captain of the varsity swimming team, a swimming representative member of the student athlete advisory council, activities programming board team leader, member of the orientation committee, member and vice president of the criminology club, member and treasurer of the Active Minds Club, member and secretary of the pre-law society, and a four-semester member of the dean’s list and the Presidents’ Athletic Conference honor roll.

“I chose to run for re-election as the vice president to continue the work I have done in the past year, improving on the events I have run to better SGA as a whole and therefore campus and student life,” Beal said.

“However, I wish to strengthen the connection between SGA and the student body, along with SGA and the administration to help improve campus life and the goals of everyone involved.”
