TownePlace Suites opens in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. — The 120-suite TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Frederick opened in late November at 5050 Westview Drive.

It will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by Westview Hospitality Associates LLC and managed by Plamondon Hospitality Partners.

Located in the Westview Corporate Park and minutes from downtown Frederick, TownePlace Suites Frederick offers its guests access to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, Fort Detrick and Harry Grove Stadium — home of Frederick Keys baseball, an affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.

Rates vary depending on length of stay.

Guests and staff interact using a floor-to-ceiling TowneMap that helps guests settle into the local area by featuring places to eat, popular nightspots, recreation areas, shopping and services, such as dry cleaners and local car washes.

Guests can partake of a complimentary continental breakfast every morning in the lobby area, as well as 24-hour coffee service. For those who want a quick snack, guests can also select food and beverage items from the 24-hour In a Pinch market.

The site offers studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens, as well as separate living/working and sleeping areas.

Its suites feature full kitchens with stainless-steel appliances and granite countertops, adjustable work spaces with built-in shelves and lighting, flat-screen televisions and bedding.

The hotel is expected to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, Silver certification for its contributions in making the environment a healthier place by reducing waste and conserving energy and water. It is the second TownePlace Suites to receive this level of certification.

TownePlace Suites in Frederick’s eco-friendly features include a fleet of bicycles for guest use; recycling programs; charging stations for electric cars; a saline-water indoor swimming pool; and green products and cleaning supplies.

Other hotel amenities include an exercise room open 24 hours a day, meeting space, billiard room, game room, outdoor space with barbecue and fire pit, complimentary wireless Internet throughout the hotel and on-site business services, including copying, faxing and printing. The TownePlace Suites Frederick is pet-friendly (fees might apply) and also provides laundry facilities for guests’ convenience.
