Berkeley County man accused of stealing copper from Quad/Graphics

December 07, 2012

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Berkeley County man is accused of stealing about 1,500 pounds of copper from the Quad/Graphics printing plant, which is near his Martinsburg area home, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Peter Alan Mynhier Jr., of 483 Gantt Drive, was arraigned one count of grand larceny Thursday evening by Magistrate Jim Humphrey, according to court documents.

Mynhier, 30, along with two other defendants, Jessica Marie Ryan, 25, of 946 Tomahawk Run Road, Hedgesville, W.Va., and Patrick Nelson Drury Jr., 39, of 424 Oak Hill Road, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., also were arraigned by Humphrey on charges of distribution of heroin and conspiracy in a separate case, according to court documents.

The stolen copper scrap metal was sold between Oct. 22 and Nov. 26, according to court documents.

Warrants charging the trio with the drug-related offenses were issued after police said the defendants took part in a drug deal Thursday involving a “cooperating individual,” according to court documents.

Police said Mynhier had his 1-year-old son with him when the drug deal occurred in the Hedgesville area and at the time police stopped the vehicle that he and the child’s mother were traveling in after the orchestrated heroin purchase, according to court documents.
