Sharpsburg Lions selling throws

The Sharpsburg Lions Club still has 10, 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Antietam five-color, 48-by-68-inch throws for sale.

The throws are designed by Sharpsburg artist Mark Kretzer and feature 14 buildings and monuments in Sharpsburg and the surrounding area. Five of the oldest houses in Sharpsburg are pictured on the throws, as well as other local attractions of historical interest such as a canal boat, Dunker Church, Maryland Monument, Bloody Lane, the Great Spring, Old Main Street and the “Wounded Lion.” 

The throws, made in the U.S, sell for $60 (including tax). Throws can be purchased by calling 240-469-4674.

Church to hold bazaar

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 53 N. Main St. in Keedysville will hold a bazaar Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.  There will be ceramics, gift baskets, Christmas decorations, Christmas gifts, candy, cakes, pies, soups and sandwiches for sale. Raffles also will be sold.


St. Mark’s to host Motorcycle Mass

The Rev. Steve McCarty, vicar of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Clear Spring, will host a Motorcycle Mass designed for motorcycle enthusiasts Saturday at 5 p.m. 

The service will be held in Dorsey Hall of the Fellowship Center of St. Mark’s Church on Lappans Road. The community is invited. You do not need to have a motorcycle to attend the Mass.
