Horse-drawn wagon rides will be offered Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. through Byron Memorial Park in Williamsport.

Attendees will be able to see the Christmas lights in the park, listen to Christmas music and see Santa.

The event is a fundraiser for the Williamsport Food Bank, which is asking residents to bring canned food items or a monetary donation for the food bank.

The horses and wagon are being donated by Rick and Sharon Martin. No vehicles will be allowed in the park during the event. 

Bookmobile to visit Hickory Elementary 

The Bookmobile will be at Hickory Elementary Wednesday, Dec. 12. Students will be able to make selections of books to read.


Story time at mall

Story time with Mrs. Claus will be held Thursday, Jan. 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Valley Mall.

Mrs. Claus will be visiting from the North Pole at Santa’s holiday home in Center Court to share stories with children.

Toys for Tots

Allegany Dental Care, at 17719 Virginia Ave., is an official dropoff site for the 2012 Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program.

Those interested in dropping off donations can do so Monday through Thursday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and on Friday between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.

SHHS Class of 1961 

Classmates of South Hagerstown High School Class of 1961 are invited to a class reunion luncheon Tuesday, Jan. 8, at noon at Beaver Creek Country Club. Lunch will  be served. All students from the class of 1961 are invited to attend.
