Nora Virginia Hartle, 92, of Little Antietam Road, Hagerstown, Md., where she lived for 65 years, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Md.

Born May 28, 1920, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James William and Alvia Susan Butts Barthlow.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barry Hartle, Sept. 13, 1984.

She was a practical nurse at the Washington County Hospital in her younger years.

She was a member of Calvary Assembly Church of God in Waynesboro, Pa. She enjoyed attending church, and appreciated those members that visited her.

She lived on a large acre farm. She loved her Siamese cats, and enjoyed and cared for all of her animals. She especially loved her racehorse, Wagalow, who raced at Penn National racetrack. She was a devoted housewife and mother. She enjoyed helping people in her neighborhood.

She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 1136 in Waynesboro.

She is survived by one daughter, Pamela May Kendrick of Frederick; one sister, Emily Miller; one brother, Leroy Barthlow; nieces and nephews; cousins; and a special friend, John Young.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda K. Hartle.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dwan N. Newsome will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
