Christmas tree sale

The Maugansville Ruritan Club’s Christmas tree lot is now open at the old Sears Automotive lot at Long Meadow Shopping Center, at the corner of Northern Avenue and Hamilton Boulevard.

This is the 48th year the Ruritans have sold Christmas trees.

The lot is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The last day for sales will be Friday, Dec. 21.

The Ruritans will help customers select a tree, then shake, trim and load it on their vehicle. The club offers a variety of trees, including Douglas Fir, Scotch Pine, White Pine, Concolor, Fraser Fir, Blue Spruce, and in different sizes. Larger sizes can be ordered. Roping and wreathes are also available.

Proceeds from the annual sale help support the many projects the Ruritan Club sponsors.

Ruritan says thanks

The Maugansville Ruritan Club hosted a Red Cross blood drive Nov. 19 in its building on Maugans Avenue.

Thirty-six donors attended the drive to give blood to those in need. This was the sixth blood drive hosted by the club this year. The next drive will be Monday, Jan 21, from 2 to 7 p.m. The Ruritans and the Red Cross thank all who donated.
