Gift wrapping available at mall

The Washington County Chapter of the American Red Cross will have local individuals and volunteers from area businesses providing holiday gift-wrapping services in two locations at Valley Mall.

As a convenience for shoppers, the gift-wrapping stations will be close to Center Court behind the fountain and one near the Food Court.

Holiday gift wrapping will be available from Friday through Dec. 24.



Say cheese

Students at Hickory Elementary School who wish to have their school photo retaken can do so Thursday, Nov. 29.

Moms of students at Hickory are invited to a Moms and Muffins breakfast Friday, Nov. 30, at 8:10 a.m.



City Park Illumination

Hagerstown City Park will come to life with a Christmas tree and holiday lights event Friday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m.

Music and activities will be held at the Hager House, Washington County Museum of Fine Arts and Mansion House Art Gallery.

Hay rides will be provided as transportation around the park at no cost.

Cookie sale

St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, at 1020 Maryland Ave., will host a cookie sale Saturday, Dec. 1, from 8 a.m. to noon.

There will be a large variety of old-time cookies, as well as many different new kinds. Cookies will be six per bag so you can try many different kinds to fill the party trays. There will also be soups and sandwiches sold for carryout only. Soups cost $6 per quart. Sandwiches cost $2.75 and country ham sandwiches cost $3.50 each.
