* As of 8 a.m., traffic was sluggish on I-270 southbound and I-495 in both directions, but was running fine on all the other interstates throughout the area.

* The north end of Glenside Avenue is scheduled to close Tuesday and Wednesday for paving installation, according to the Washington County Division of Public Works. Glenside Avenue will become a two-way street during that time and will only be accessible from Oak Ridge Drive.

* Rice Road is scheduled to close for 14 weeks beginning Tuesday for a culvert replacement, according to the Washington County Division of Public Works. Resley Road is expected to serve as its designated detour route.

* Speed cameras have been placed on I-70 at Conococheague Creek for work zone safety as part of the bridge rehabilitation project there, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration. A 21-day warning period began Wednesday, Nov. 7, and beginning Wednesday, Nov. 28, motorists driving more than 12 miles over the posted speed limit, which will become 55 miles per hour, will face a $40 citation.
