Homemakers Club awards scholarships

The Washington County Homemakers presented 10 scholarships to students who are continuing to further their education at various universities, colleges and technical schools. 

Scholarships are awarded to children and grandchildren of members of the homemakers clubs.

The homemakers’ members conduct several fundraising events and projects during the year that provide funds for the scholarships.

Those receiving awards this year are  Danielle Clark (The College of William and Mary); Lee Ann Drust (Blue Ridge Community and Technical College); Travis Fournier (Hagerstown Community College); Shane Ganley (Lynchburg College); Kalvin Kline (Frostburg State University); Andrew Moninger (Shippensburg University); Eric Stottlemyer (Shenandoah University); Megan Weber (Virginia Tech University); Ashley Willingham (Alderson-Broaddus College); and Autumn Willingham (Delaware Valley College).

 The Washington County Homemakers began in 1917 and is one of the oldest nonprofit service organizations in the county. There are six homemakers’ clubs throughout Washington County.  For more information about the scholarships or club locations, contact Brenda Finch at 301-824-6435.
