HCC men improve to 3-0

ANNANDALE, Va. — Jerel Carter had 19 points, six assists and five steals for Hagerstown Community College as the Hawks improved to 3-0 with a 105-83 victory over Northern Virginia on Wednesday.

Donte Thomas had 17 points, including two 3-pointers, and six assists for the Hawks, while Junius Thomas had nine points and 11 rebounds and Stephen Christy had 11 points, including three 3-pointers, in the victory.


HCC runners dominate All-Maryland JuCo teams

For the first time in program history, Hagerstown Community College’s top five men and top five women were all honored with places on the All-Maryland JuCo Conference teams, as they combined to take 10 of the 14 spots.

Casey Barr, Paige Goebelbecker, Rachel Lilley, Kelsey Weaver and Renee Barnes earned the honors for the Hagerstown women, while Brandon Horning, Stephen Starliper, Greg Rinehart, Andy Drum and Kenton Grossnickle got the honors for the Hagerstown men.

Both Hawks teams will compete Saturday at the NJCAA Division I national championships in Ida, Ill.
