Gerald Reichard Taylor Sr., 74, of Clear Spring, Md., died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Md.

Born Aug. 19, 1938, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Howard R. and Margaret I. Houser Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Frances V. Taylor, in 2008.

He retired from Supreme Block Co.

He was a member of the Izaak Walton League of America.

He is survived by two daughters, Debbie Rash of Fountain, Colo., and Ruth Lushbaugh of Hagerstown; one son, Gerald R. Taylor Jr. of Clear Spring; five sisters, Phyllis Zittle, Gloria Rudisill and Shirley Lowe, all of Hagerstown, Linda Everhart of Georgia and Margaret Heleine; three brothers, Howard Taylor, Robert Taylor and Gary Taylor, all of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Trisha Taylor; one sister, Dana Whittington; and five brothers, Ned Taylor, Charles Taylor, Raymond Taylor, Richard Taylor and David Taylor.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Chaplain Mike Simane will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
