Maryland road agency launches a Facebook site

November 03, 2012

The Maryland State Highway Administration’s newly launched Facebook page offers customers an opportunity to interact with, and learn more about, SHA.

The new Facebook page features:

  •  SHA news updates
  •  A brief history of SHA
  •  Information about SHA services
  •  Access to SHA’s Customer Care Management System
  •  Photo albums and milestone information about many SHA construction projects
  •  Emergency updates (weather/incidents) from SHA and other state agencies
  •  Valuable traffic safety reminders from SHA and other safety advocates
SHA maintains 5,200 miles of nontoll highways (16,000 miles when the number of lanes are factored) and 2,500 bridges along Maryland’s numbered roads — interstates, U.S. and state roads.

SHA serves every community in Maryland’s 23 counties and connects people to work, school, social and religious activities, and recreation and tourist sites.

The highway system links locals roads, park and ride lots, the Port of Baltimore, BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, transit centers and train stations, and hiker and bicyclist trails.
