November 01, 2012

Students in the Veterans Club at Hagerstown Community College will hold a special screening of the documentary, “Restrepo,” Saturday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m., at Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus.

“Restrepo” is a full-length documentary that chronicles the deployment of a U.S. platoon in Afghanistan’s Korengal Valley. According to the film website, the movie focuses on a remote 15-man outpost that was considered to be one of the most dangerous postings in the U.S. military. The outpost is named “Restrepo” after a medic who was killed in action.

The event is free and open to the public.
