Superstorm Sandy isn't going to spoil Halloween for some Tri-State area children, after all.
Officials in Hagerstown and in Chambersburg, Pa., announced that trick-or-treating in those communities will be held as scheduled Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Hagerstown residents are reminded to invite children in costume by turning on their porch lights, a news release from city spokeswoman Erin Wolfe said.
Parents are encouraged to accompany their children when they go door to door and make sure they cross at intersections. Use of reflective clothing is also encouraged. Parents should check candy before allowing children to consume it, a news release from the Borough of Chambersburg said.
