HAGERSTOWN — Three city residents were charged after a motorist was assaulted when he picked up the three individuals on North Burhans Boulevard Monday night, according to a Hagerstown Police Department spokesman.

Dana Lee Andrews, 36, 237 N. Mulberry St., is charged with robbery/theft of a motor vehicle and numerous traffic violations, according to Sgt. Jim Robison.

Nicole Sullivan, 23, of 140 W. Franklin St., and Darlene Sullivan, 46, of 107-A Summit Ave., are both charged with robbery and theft of a motor vehicle, Robison said.

After the motorist picked up the individuals, they assaulted the motorist and stole his wallet, cell phone, jewelry and cash, Robison said.

The individuals eventually let the motorist out of his vehicle at the Sheetz on Maugans Avenue and drove away in the automobile, Robison said.

At 11:36 p.m. a Hagerstown Police Department officer spotted the vehicle in the 600 block of West Washington Street and attempted to stop it.

A chase started and officers pursued the vehicle to the first block of East Franklin Street where the driver bailed out of the car and ran on foot, Robison said.

The driver, identified as Andrews, was taken into custody at Potomac and Franklin streets, Robison said.

Nicole Sullivan was in the car and taken into custody, Robison said.

The third suspect, Darlene Sullivan, was found in a room at the Motel 6 near the Valley Mall, Robison said.
