Thanks to those involved with Fill the Food Banks Concert

To the editor:

Five Forks Brethren in Christ Food Pantry and Waynesboro Community and Human Services would like to thank Sen. Rich Alloway and Washington Township for once again sponsoring the Fill the Food Banks Concert at Red Run Park in Rouzerville. It was a beautiful autumn day and music filled the park. Two pickup trucks were filled with 1,133 pounds of nonperishable food items and over $400 was raised.

This event was a great success and the two food banks would like to thank everyone who donated food items, money and, equally important, their time. Thanks to the following: Carlene Willhide and the Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce, Blue Ridge Mountain Fire and Rescue, businesses that displayed fliers, Red Run Express train engineers, Sis Brown, Lee Showalter and Rice Fruit Co., Martin’s Food Market, Rob Ashway, Kim Green, Caitlin Adolini, Pastor Michael Cromer, Rouzerville United Methodist Church, Antietam Dairy, Old Tyme Gospel Band, Friends Creek Pickers, Diane Keeney, The Record Herald, The Herald-Mail, Public Opinion, all the volunteers sorting the food and Waynesboro Area Fellowship of Churches.

If anyone was missed, we apologize. We want you all to know you were greatly appreciated.

Denise Esser
Waynesboro Community and Human Services
