Fox named Big East coach of year
Syracuse’s Chris Fox, a former Hagerstown resident, was named the 2012 Big East Conference Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year.

Fox guided the Orange to their third Big East title in the last four years.

Charleston 2, Shepherd 1
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Playing a player down the entire second half due to a red card, Shepherd could not rally and fell to the University of Charleston 2-1 in the first round of the WVIAC tournament.

Kelsey Eagan scored for the Rams (7-8-3) in the 62nd minute.

Player of the Week
PRINCETON, W.Va. — Shepherd University forward Morgan Gabriel won women’s soccer player of the week in the WVIAC.

She helped Shepherd win two games with a pair of goals in a victory over Chowan and the lone goal in a win over Ohio Valley.
