Hancock tops Massanutten, 30-12

HANCOCK — Jesse Wolford had 12 carries for 108 yards and scored two touchdowns Friday night to lead Hancock to a 30-12 victory over Massanutten Military Academy (3-6).

Wolford opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 49-yard TD run and then scored his second touchdown on a 7-yard pass from Nate Souders in the second quarter as the Panthers (4-5) built a 22-6 halftime lead.

Jordan Keefer rushed 28 times for 71 yards and had a 15-yard interception return for a touchdown for the Panthers, while Logan Manning had an 8-yard interception return for a touchdown in the victory.

MERCERSBURG, Pa. — Paige Wolny had two goals and two assists to lead Mercersburg Academy past Madeira School for its 11th win of the season, a school record.

Katie Miller had two goals, Alyson Kinney, Kate Kistler and Payton Lissette each had a goal, Melanie Rankin had three assists and Emily Schoenberger and Sarah Firestone had an assist each for the Blue Storm (11-3-1), who set a school record for wins in a season with 11. 

Brunswick 9, Hancock 0

BRUNSWICK, Md. — Dara Demich scored a single-game school-record six goals for Brunswick on Thursday, leading the Railroaders (6-8-1) to a victory over Hancock (0-12-1) in a Maryland Class 1A West first-round match.


St. Andrews 3, Saint James 1

ST. JAMES —  Kim Wooster had seven kills and five aces for Saint James in a 23-25, 25-12, 25-19, 25-22 loss to St. Andrews.

McKenna Hough had five kills and 13 blocks and Candace Yang had five aces for the Saints.

Jefferson 3, Berkeley Springs 0

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. — Casey Solomon had 10 kills and eight digs for Berkeley Springs in Thursday’s 25-14, 25-23, 25-15 loss to Jefferson.

Lauren Schetrompf added six kills and five digs for the Indians (5-13).
