Mrs. Frances Mae Fauble, 93, Frederick, Md., died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Northampton Manor Nursing Home in Frederick. She was the wife of Lester E. Fauble, who died Feb. 22, 1999.

Born in Arnoldstown, Md., on May 9, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Ausherman Sowers.

She was a member of the Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville, Md. She had a very strong faith, and was a former member of the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, Burkittsville, Md. She had played the organ and piano, taught Sunday school, and was very active in the women’s groups there. She was well known for her baking, especially her cherry nut cake, which took a blue ribbon at the Frederick Fair; banana cake, her iced tea for special church functions, and homemade potato chips. She loved being around her family, and especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great granddaughter. The little ones made her day and brought a smile to her, even until the end.

She is survived by four children, Anna Mae Buhrman and husband, Jerry, Laureda McIntyre and husband, Joseph Jr., all of Smithsburg, Harry S. “Sam” Fauble and wife, Debbie, Winchester, Va., and Arthur E. Fauble and wife, Diane, Walkersville, Md.; seven grandchildren, Tina and Ritchie Willard, Joseph McIntyre, Lesley McCleaf and Bob Crebs, Scott and Doris Buhrman, Eric and Michelle Buhrman, Samantha and Tim Stern, and Lauren and Gary Bennett; 13 great-grandchildren, Rachelle, Michelle, and Kayleigh Buhrman, Cody Willard and girlfriend, Holly, Paige Willard and boyfriend, Shane, Kayla Kendall and friend, Adam Wagaman, Zachary Swope, Grace McCleaf, Branden Stern, Carson Stern, and Tyler, Gary Michael, and Joshua Barrett; one great-great-granddaughter, Ava Wagaman; two sisters, Ruth Biggs and Evelyn Flanagan, both of Frederick; and a dear friend, Rose Drakeford.

She was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Dottie Wean, Bill Sowers, Glenn Sowers and Mary Danner.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown, Md. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 at Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville. The Rev. Donna Martin and the Rev. Tim Ritchey Martin will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant View Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Burkittsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, 11301 Meeting House Road, Myersville.
