Paving project on Pennsylvania Avenue could cause delays

October 22, 2012

Motorists should expect delays on Pennsylvania Avenue (U.S. 11) north of Hagerstown for the next couple of weeks as a paving project on the roadway begins Tuesday, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration.

Beginning Tuesday morning, the SHA will mill and resurface approximately one mile of U.S. 11 between Northern and Maugans avenues, an SHA official said in a news release.

Weather permitting, work is expected to be completed by Nov. 9.

The work will require lane shifts and single-lane closures on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. because warmer daytime temperatures are more favorable for paving, SHA officials said.
