Phyllis A. Knipe, 71, of Martinsburg, W.Va., left her family and friends to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at her home.

She was a retired teacher from James Rumsey. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Shepherd College.

She was the daughter of the late Charles R. Ambrose and Beryl V. Dawson Ambrose.

She is survived by her husband, George W. "Bill" Knipe; two sons, Neville L. Leonard and wife, Kathy, and Brian C. Leonard and wife, Susan; sisters-in-law, Janet McBee and husband, Legarde, Phyllis Johnson and Barbara Brittingham; grandchildren, Mathew Leonard, Emily Hockman and husband, Tyler, David Leonard and Willow Leonard; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., with Pastor Craig Dearing officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.

Arrangements are by Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs.
