Police seek information on Purdy Creek Store robbery

SCOTLAND, Pa. — Franklin County (Pa.) Crime Solvers are seeking information about a robbery from a store Tuesday at Chambersburg Mall.

Pennsylvania State Police said one person requested assistance from an employee at Purdy Creek Store at about 3:45 p.m., while two other suspects removed cash from the cash register.

“Suspect one physically stopped the employee from going towards the cash register,” police wrote in a news release.

All three are described as black males with short hair. One is 6 foot to 6 foot 3 inches tall with a medium build, the second is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 175 pounds, and the third is about 6 feet 4 inches tall with a slim build.


Police said the suspects ran to a vehicle in the parking lot.

Pa. woman charged with stealing $3,500 in gift cards

A McConnellsburg, Pa., woman has been charged with stealing $3,500 in gift cards from Giant Food Stores, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Heather Marie Shore, 27, was charged with theft and unlawful taking, according to a state police news release.

Troopers said the thefts occurred from July 16 to Tuesday, when Shore allegedly stole the gift cards from the Giant Food Store at 360 S. Second St. in Ayr Township.
