Pauline Forsyth Piraino, 94, of 1183 Luther Drive, Hagerstown, Md., passed away peacefully, Monday, Oct. 15, 2012.

Born Tuesday, Feb. 19, 1918, in Clear Spring, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lewis Forsyth and the late Mary (Yetter) Forsyth. She was preceded in death by her husband Barney Piraino in 1988.

She was employed as a teacher with the Washington County Board of Education, retiring in 1982, she last taught at Springfield Middle School. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Clear Spring, and later Zion Reformed United Church of Christ in Hagerstown. She was a member of the Maryland State Retired Teachers Association, Washington County Teachers Association, which she helped to organize, Moose Club in Mercersburg. Pauline also volunteered at the ARCC at Hagerstown Community College and enjoyed doing art work.

She is survived by her son, Earl Meagher of Clear Spring; sister, Ravena Minnick of Williamsport, Md.; brothers, Donald Forsyth, Carl Forsyth and Noel Forsyth all of Clear Spring; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, from 3 to 5 p.m.

Private interment will be at the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
