Ruth Lorraine Judd, 92 of Hagerstown, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Reeder’s Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Md.

Born Oct. 6, 1920 in Sharpsburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late George and Ora Colbert Spence.

She was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, where she received a WW II Victory Medal, a Good Conduct Medal and American Campaign Medal.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Judd, who died in 1978.

She is survived by two daughters, Julia Seguin of New Bedford, Mass., and Jean Fisher of Hull, Mass.; two sons, James Judd of Williamsport and John Judd of Watsonville, Calif.; two sisters, Vivian Carter of Maugansville and Nancy Hennesy of Flower Mound, Texas; a brother, James Spence of Fairplay, Md.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Pentoney and Thelma White and two brothers, George Spence and Donald Spence.

A memorial service will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Fund, P.O. Box 51, Lewes, DE 19958.
