Antietam Cable drive to benefit food bank

October 13, 2012

Antietam Cable Co. will hold a food drive to benefit the Maryland Food Bank-Western Branch, formerly known as Food Resources Inc.

It marks the third consecutive year that the cable company has hosted a food drive. Last year’s drive collected more than 4,700 pounds of food.  Over the past three years, Antietam Cable’s food drives have collected 9,500 pounds of food.

From now until Nov. 16, Antietam Cable will encourage donations by offering free service upgrades to existing customers and free service installation to new customers who donate food at the time of service.

Antietam Cable will also have a donation box in the lobby of its main office,  will donate more than $20,000 in advertising and other services to promote the food bank and will provide a link from its website to the food bank website at mdfoodbank.org.

The food drive will primarily benefit Washington County.
