Washington County Games

South Hagerstown Rebels (6-0) at Catoctin Cougars (3-3)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Series: South Hagerstown leads, 11-10.

Last meeting: 2011 — South Hagerstown, 20-6.

Last week: The Rebels beat Smithsburg, 38-6. ... The Cougars lost to Boonsboro, 38-0.

Notes: The Rebels have won seven straight dating back to last season, the second-best winning streak in school history. Their longest was a 14-game winning streak that stretched from Oct. 23, 1961 to Sept. 14, 1963. ... The Rebels have allowed 33 points in six games this season. They have allowed fewer than 100 points in a season twice: 1964 (88) and 1967 (72). They finished 6-4 in both of those seasons. ... The Rebels have scored 228 points this year. They need 75 points to break the school record of 302 points set last season. ... Isiaha Smith is averaging 210 yards rushing and three touchdowns per game this season for the Rebels. ... The Cougars had a three-game winning streak snapped by Boonsboro last week. ... The Cougars were shut out for the first time since the end of the 2010 season. It was the first time they were shut out by Boonsboro since 1987. ... The Cougars gained just 151 yards in the loss to Boonsboro.

Williamsport Wildcats (0-6) at Brunswick Railroaders (3-3)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Series: Brunswick leads, 17-14.

Last meeting: 2011 — Brunswick, 34-7.

Last week: The Wildcats lost to North Hagerstown, 53-27. ... The Railroaders beat Clear Spring, 45-20.

Notes: The Wildcats have lost seven straight dating back to last season. It’s their longest losing streak since an eight-game skid in 2006. ... The Railroaders have won three of four since an 0-2 start. ... T.J. Boyer completed 9 of 19 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns in the loss to North Hagerstown, but he was picked off three times — two of which were returned for TDs by North’s Gabe Fridgen. ... The Railroaders beat Clear Spring for the seveth straight time. ... Blaine Price needed seven catches against Clear Spring to set the Maryland career receptions record. He had 14 catches for 222 yards. ... The Railroaders hold the fourth spot in the Class 1A West standings.

Boonsboro Warriors (5-1) at Hedgesville Eagles (2-4)

Series: Hedgesville leads, 6-4.

Last meeting: 2011 — Hedgesville, 47-14.

Last week: The Warriors beat Catoctin, 38-0. ... The Eagles lost to Musselman, 54-0.

Notes: The Warriors snapped a six-game losing streak in the series last season. Before that, Boonsboro’s last win over Hedgesville was in 1962. ... The Warriors posted their fourth shutout of the season last week against Catoctin. South Hagerstown and Williamsport are the only teams to score on the Warriors this year. ... The school record for shutouts in a season is five, set in the Warriors’ state-title season of 1993. ...The Warriors rolled up 441 yards of offense against Catoctin, including 315 yards on the ground. ... Chad Cowden was impressive in his second start at QB, throwing for 126 yards and a pair of touchdowns to Zach Poffenberger. ... The Eagles gained just 17 yards rushing and quarterback Lane Riner was sacked four times in their loss to Musselman.

Berkeley Springs Indians (0-7) at Clear Spring Blazers (2-4)

Last week: The Indians lost to Keyser, 47-0. ... The Blazers lost to Brunswick, 45-20.

Notes: The Indians have lost 13 straight games dating back to last season. Their last win was a 7-6 victory over Frankfort on Sept. 16, 2011. ... The Blazers have lost three in a row since starting the season 2-1. ... Jacob Brant threw three touchdown passes for the Blazers in the loss to Brunswick.

Hancock Panthers (1-5) at Hundred Hornets (0-7)

When: Friday, 7:30 p.m.

Series: Hancock leads, 6-5.

Last meeting: 2011 — Hancock, 26-0.

Last week: The Panthers lost to Northern Garrett, 41-0. ... The Hornets lost to Cameron, 52-14.

Notes: The Panthers have won the last three meetings. ... The Hornets have lost 17 straight games. Their last win was a 53-13 victory over Rappahannock County (Va.) on Nov. 5, 2010. ... The Panthers were done in by eight turnovers in the loss to Northern Garrett. It was the third straight time the Panthers were shut out by the Huskies. ... The Panthers surrendered 346 yards rushing while gaining just 70. The were 0-for-11 passing with two interceptions.

North Hagerstown Hubs (5-1) at Smithsburg Leopards (2-4)

When: Saturday, 2 p.m.

Series: North Hagerstown leads, 12-11.

Last meeting: 2011 — North Hagerstown, 38-14.

Last week: The Hubs beat Williamsport, 53-27. ... The Leopards lost to South Hagerstown, 38-6.

Notes: The Hubs have won four straight games, while the Leopards have dropped four in a row. ... The Hubs continued to put up big offensive numbers, gaining 454 yards in the win over Williamsport. ... Preston Carey ran 22 times for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Kyle Hewlett ran for 107 yards and two touchdowns. ... Nick Karlen completed 2 of 4 passes and both went for touchdowns. ... Gabe Fridgen had three intereceptions and returned two of them for touchdowns. He’s the first player in North history to score two defensive touchdowns in a game. ... The Leopards were held to 189 yards in the loss to South, including just 53 rushing yards on 34 carries. ... Zach Krall completed 9 of 19 passes for 134 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown pass to Matt Stevens. ... The Leopards surrendered 355 yards on the ground to South.

Saint James Saints (3-3) at Flint Hill Huskies (3-2)

Notes: The Huskies have won three straight after starting the season 0-2. ... The Saints have lost three of four after a 2-0 start. ... Justin Pank ran for 101 yards in the loss to Sidwell Friends. ... Quarterback Bobby Brennan suffered an ankle injury and did not return to the game. ... The Saints had 112 yards in penalties and turned the ball over four times. ... Connor Chess ran for 132 yards and three touchdowns in the Huskies’ win over Bishop Ireton. ... Stevie Peterson completed 11 of 13 passes for 128 yards, including a pair of touchdowns to Cole Herdman. ... Ben Kase returned a kickoff 86 yards for a score.
