The Hagerstown-Wesel Sister City Association holds a reception to celebrate 60th anniversary at 7 p.m. tonight. Representatives from Wesel will be at the reception. Open to the public. Discovery Station, 101 W. Potomac St., downtown Hagerstown. Free admission. Go to www.discoverystation.org.

2. Peter Burr history

Music, exhibits and demonstrations of 18th-century homemaking crafts, including wool spinning and butter churning. 3. Jazz and poetry

4. Cross stitch art

South Jefferson Public Library holds a reception from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, for four local cross-stitch artists. 5. ‘Carnival Couture’ fundraiser

Sagittarius Salon & Spa will host a costumed fashion show to raise funds for John Marsh Cancer Center patient navigation program at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. The salon is at 1136 Conrad Court, Hagerstown. Food, beverages, entertainment and silent auction. Cost is $75. Call 301-797-8008.
