Sheds burglarized
Nine sheds were burglarized recently south of Hagerstown in the South Pointe area, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputy 1st Class Carly Hose said miscellaneous items were stolen from the sheds on Plantation, South Fork and Winding Oak drives. She said the thefts are believed to have occurred from Sept. 20 to Oct. 9.
The sheriff’s office is advising people to make sure their outbuildings are locked.

Wanted man nabbed
MERCERSBURG, Pa. — Mercersburg police on Tuesday apprehended a man they say was wanted on a warrant charging him with robbery, aggravated assault, theft and receiving stolen property.
Michael Wayne Bear, 27, was taken into custody outside his home at 301 S. Park Ave. at 6:35 p.m., police said.
Police said they released Bear to Chambersburg Police Department officers.

Copper pipes stolen
WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Waynesboro police are investigating a reported theft of copper pipes from a vacant home on North Church Street.
On Monday, someone reported a door was kicked in at the home and copper piping was removed, police said.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports incidents


The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents from 8 a.m. Tuesday to 8 a.m. Wednesday:
• Nine sheds were broken into in the area of Plantation, South Fork and Winding Oak drives.
• A burglary in the 400 block of South Artizan Street.
• A burglary in the 11800 block of Cedar Ridge Road.
• A burglary in the 14300 block of Clear Spring Road.
• A burglary in the 11000 block of Eastwood Drive.
• A burglary in the 17900 block of Leona Avenue.
• Vandalsim in the 300 block of Winding oak Drive.
• Vandalsim in the 6200 of Castle Rock Drive.
• A theft in the 13500 block of Donnybrook Drive.
• A theft in the 17200 block of Cole Road.
• A theft from a vehicle in the 16800 block of Petmar Circle.
• A theft from a vehicle in the 13600 block of Dixie Drive.
