Woman assaulted in Waynesboro alley
WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A female victim reported being physically assaulted by two people in an alley behind 27/29 Cleveland Avenue, Waynesboro police said in a news release.
Police said they were dispatched to the incident at 8:38 p.m. Sept. 27. The woman was only able to describe the male subjects as wearing black hooded sweat shirts.
“It was raining heavily at the time, and visibility was limited,” police said.

Pa. man charged in vehicle fire
WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A Waynesboro man has been charged in connection with a vehicle fire Aug. 22.
Vito Marchese, no age given, of 21 N. Church St., was charged with arson and criminal mischief, police said.
Police said the charges are connected to a vehicle fire reported at 1:37 a.m. on North Church Street.

Police respond to assault, theft calls
The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following incidents, according to Lt. Tom Langston:

Sept. 20
 • Two people were arrested after a person wielded a knife during an altercation on Noland Drive. A woman was charged with first- and second-degree assault, and a man was charged with second-degree assault.

Sept. 21
 • A man was arrested following an assault that occurred in the 100 block of West Church Street.
 • A man was charged with malicious destruction of property after he allegedly damaged a truck with a pipe in the 100 block of West Antietam Street.

Sept. 23
 • A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of Mulberry Avenue.
 • A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 800 block of Mulberry Avenue.
 • A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1100 block of The Terrace.
 • A man was charged for allegedly stealing metal from the old Statton Furniture building on First Street.

Sept. 24
 • An individual kicked in glass at Roxy Liquors at 761 E. Wilson Blvd. and stole lottery tickets.

Sept. 26
 • A man was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault after he allegedly struck another male with a bat at R&K Pub at 15 E. Baltimore St.

Sept. 29
 • A male was arrested for violation of a protective order in the 40 block of West Franklin Street.

Oct. 1
 • A male was arrested for second-degree assault in connection with a domestic violence incident in the 1200 block of Hamilton Boulevard.
 • A robbery was reported at East and Cannon avenues.

Oct. 2
 • A man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a cab driver at 314 N. Potomac St., and attempted to flee on foot.
 • A man was arrested following a domestic assault in the 1200 block of Little Elliot Drive.

Deputies respond toburglary, vandalism calls
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents from 8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Monday:
 • A burglary in the 200 block of Hebb Road
 • A burglary in the 18100 block of Manor Church Road
 • A burglary in the 15600 block of Clear Spring Road
 • Vandalism in the unit block of Frederick Road
 • Vandalism in the unit block of Oaktree Lane
 • A theft in the 14600 block of Pennersville Road
 • A theft in the 12900 block of Cohill Road
 • A theft in the 11400 block of Longview Drive
 • A theft in the 17300 block of Valley Mall Road
 • A theft in the 11300 block of Youngstoun Drive
 • A theft from a vehicle in the 9400 block of Musket Court
