Landscape Design and Plant Selection Series — Wednesdays, Oct. 10 to Nov. 17, 7 to 9 p.m., plus a Saturday demonstration tour. The fee is $40 for the whole series, or $10 for each individual class. To register, call the Penn State Extension Office at 717-263-9226.

PSU Animal Sciences Open House — Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 24 and 25 — Snider Ag Center at Penn State University, main campus. 
Attention high school seniors: Come see what Penn State Animal Sciences is all about with a familiarization trip for prospective students. 
Participants will be staying overnight with responsible college students in the campus dormitories.

Landowner Liability Workshop — Landowner liabilities as it pertains to hunting, hiking and trespassing on private property will be the topic of the October 11 meeting of the Cumberland Woodland Owners Association. Penn State Professor Ross H. Pifer, Director, Agricultural Law Resource and Reference Center will be the featured speaker.   The meeting will be at 7:00 PM, at the Franklin County Ag Heritage Building which is located at 185 Franklin Farm Lane in Chambersburg. The meeting is open to the public. You do not have to be a member of the association and there is no cost to attend.
The Cumberland Woodland Owners Association is an organization of private forestland owners and others interested in forestry issues in south central Pennsylvania. The mission of the association is to provide information, education and an exchange of ideas to its members and others about the methods and benefits of proper forest management. To reach the Washington County Extension office, drive about seven miles south of Hagerstown from the I-70 exit onto Sharpsburg Pike.

The office is in the Washington County Agricultural Education Center complex.

The Franklin County, Pa., Extension office is at 181 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg.

From Hagerstown, take Interstate 81 north to the U.S. 30 east exit. Take the first road to the left, which is Franklin Farm Lane.
