Meeting set on Yale Drive extension

October 07, 2012

The Washington County Division of Public Works, Engineering and Construction Department is hosting a public informational meeting to discuss the latest details on the Yale Drive construction project.

The meeting will be Wednesday, starting at 7 p.m. at Ruth Ann Monroe Primary School, 1311 Yale Drive in Hagerstown.

Washington County is poised to build an extension of Yale Drive, which will provide connections to Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown Community College, the senior center being built on the college campus and a planned technology park.

Grants have been obtained to help pay for widening of a 0.61-mile section of Yale Drive to four lanes.

The purpose of Wednesday’s meeting is to provide an outline of the project, expected schedule and detour routes, and to answer any questions, according to a news release from the county.

The agenda includes an overview presentation followed by breakout question and answer sessions.

There will be five stations where project plans will be available for review, and questions will be answered by county staff. Individuals unable to attend the meeting may contact 240-313-2215 for more information.
