Students disciplined after scuffle at Hancock school

October 05, 2012

Two students were disciplined after they got into a scuffle on Thursday and shattered a window at Hancock Middle/Senior High School, a Washington County Public Schools spokesman said Friday.

Richard Wright said the students had eaten lunch and were on their way back to class when the incident occurred.

“There was a scuffle in the school and a student pushed another student into a window,” Wright said Friday. “Things were cleaned up, and no medical action was needed.”

He said parents would have been notified about the incident had it been more serious.

Hancock Police Chief Timothy Buskirk said police were not called to the school to respond to the incident.

“Both kids were handled administratively in the school,” Buskirk said.
