Hope all is well. What a glorious time of year. We are headed to New London, Conn., this week to see our daughter, and are sure to enjoy some lovely foliage along the way.

Indoor yard sale

 On Saturday, Mount Zion Lutheran Church at the intersection of Md. 67 and Locust Grove Road, north of Rohrersville, will hold an indoor yard, bake and sandwich sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The yard sale is free, but donations will be accepted.

There will also be country ham sandwiches, soups and other foods for sale. All proceeds will go to the Mount Zion Needy Family Fund.

Fit In Boonsboro

Happy anniversary to Fit In Boonsboro. The staff invites the community to celebrate its first year in Boonsboro on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The fitness center will offer three complimentary classes that day — piloxing (combines pilates and boxing) at 9:15 a.m.; yoga at 10:15 a.m.; and belly dancing at 11:15 a.m. 

The fitness center will also feature membership sign-up specials that day.

In addition, the last Thursday of every month is Community Day. The facility offers free classes on those days.

Class of 1977

The Boonsboro High School Class of 1977 will hold its 35-year reunion Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Elks Lodge in Hagerstown. Happy hour will start at 5 p.m.

All class members and spouses are invited to attend. A buffet-style dinner will be served.

The class will attend the Boonsboro High School homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 19.

Ann Palmer will host a welcome party at her home after the football game.

Class of 1967

The Boonsboro High Class of 1967 will hold its 45-year reunion Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Elks Lodge in Hagerstown with happy hour starting at 5 p.m.

The reunion costs $35 per person. Anyone who would have been members of the class is invited to attend.

Organ donor symposium   
On Saturday, Oct. 27, the Lions Clubs of Boonsboro and Sharpsburg, along with Donate Life Maryland, will present an organ donor symposium as part of Make a Difference Day. 

Donor recipients, donors and donor families from the area and across the state will share stories. The event will take place at the Boonsboro American Legion from 9 to 10 a.m. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. for a complimentary continental breakfast.

Barbecue to be held

 The Boonsboro Lions will hold a barbecue Saturday, Oct. 13, next to Columbia Bank on Main Street in Boonsboro, starting at 9:30 a.m.

The chicken will be roasted using a special blend of spices. Proceeds will be used for the benefit of the community.

Bazaar planned

Washington County Show Kids will host a Christmas bazaar Saturday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 64 S. Main St. in Boonsboro.

The event will feature popular vendors, handmade crafts and food.

Proceeds will support the activities of the Show Kids.
