Police investigate homicide in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. — Police are investigating a Sunday morning homicide in which a Frederick man with multiple gunshot wounds was pronounced dead at Frederick Memorial Hospital, according to a news release from the Frederick Police Department.

Police identified the shooting victim as Lamont George-Lee Ellis, 36, of the 3700 block of Hope Commons Circle, according to the release. Hope Commons Circle is in the Urbana area south of Frederick.

Police received a call for shots fired in the 100 block of West All Saints Street at about 1:53 a.m. Sunday, police said.

The man was found in Mullenix Alley, adjacent to West All Saints Street, and was taken to the hospital, police said.

No further information about the homicide investigation was available.
