Mrs. Nina J. (Flohr) Staley, 72, of 14316 Barkdoll Road, Hagerstown, Md., died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown. She had been in failing health for the past two months.

Born July 14, 1940, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Howard and Geneva (Harbaugh) Flohr of Highfield, Md.

Mrs. Staley graduated with the 1958 class of Smithsburg High School, Smithsburg, Md.

She and her husband, the late Brondell D. Staley, were married in December 1958. They lived at their present residence since 1967. Mr. Staley died June 2, 1989.

In her early years, Mrs. Staley was employed by Waynesboro Knitting Mill. She was later employed by Sylvania Shoe, Waynesboro; Avalon Manor in Hagerstown; and Ravenwood Lutheran Village, Hagerstown. She retired to care for her husband and mother.

Mrs. Staley attended Church of Christ at Hagerstown.

She enjoyed baking pies and cakes for family and friends, traveling to the mountains and beach, and attending church gospel concerts.

She is survived by two daughters, Cathy J. Souders of Hagerstown and Tammy S. Wylie and her husband, Anthony, of Greencastle; three sons, Roger D. Staley and his wife, Julie, of Waynesboro, Mark A. Staley of Greencastle and David B. Staley of Sabillasville, Md.; eight grandchildren; and her brother, Richard E. Flohr of Falling Waters, W.Va.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carla D. Staley; and her companion, Roy "Junie" Swope.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at the Church of Christ at Hagerstown, 10014 White Hall Road, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Gerrard Fess officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade, Md.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
