United Way resource director leaving agency

United Way of Washington County has announced the resignation of Resource Development Director Addie Nardi.

Nardi, who started working for United Way in May 2008, said Friday she is leaving to become executive director of the Franklin County (Pa.) Bar Association.

“It’s the next step for me career-wise,” Nardi said Friday afternoon. “I’ve had an amazing time at United Way.”

Nardi, 34, said her first day at he new job will be Oct. 15.

“We appreciate the contributions Addie has made to United Way through the past four years,” Interim Executive Director Anjie Doll said in a news release. “We wish her well in her new role and will miss her greatly. We have been working with her and our volunteers to manage the campaign upon her departure.”

Nardi will be with United Way through Oct. 12.

Nardi, a Franklin County resident, said the position with the bar association would give her a chance to learn more about her community. 

This year’s United Way campaign will run through Dec. 31. At the recent campaign kickoff, co-chairs Jim Fakult of Potomac Edison and Peter E. Perini Sr. announced a goal of $1.75 million.

This year’s Day of Caring will be Oct. 10. United Way expects to have a record number of volunteers at this year’s event.
