Fire causes $60,000 in damage

A Friday night fire caused $60,000 in damages to a two-story house at 6601 Remsburg Road near Antietam National Battlefield, the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office said.

The fire, which was reported at 7:29 p.m., caused $50,000 in damages to the structure and $10,000 in damages to the contents, according to a state fire marshal’s office news release.

Authorities said 45 firefighters took about 90 minutes to get the fire under control. The cause of the fire was under investigation.

Max Godlove was the occupant of the house, the fire marshal’s office said.
