Literacy night planned at school

Clear Spring Elementary School will hold Literacy Night Tuesday, starting at 7:30 p.m. 

Following the PTA meeting, there will be different literacy mini-sessions.

Attendees can choose from Reading Counts, Study Island, Common Core State Standards, Free Resources or Help at Home. 

The session will include information for parents.

Spaghetti supper planned at Ruritan

Wilson Ruritan will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti supper Friday from  5 to 7 p.m. at the club, which is one-quarter mile from Huyetts Crossroads on U.S. 40. 

Tickets cost $12 for adults and $4 for those ages 4 to 11. 

There will be a cake auction at 6 p.m.

Church to hold yard sale Oct. 13

St. Peter’s Reform Church will hold a soup, sandwich and yard sale Saturday, Oct. 13, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Passion Pack at Clear Spring Elementary School.

Blessing of animals set for Sunday

Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, at 14615 Fairview Church Road, will hold a blessing of the animals service Sunday at 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. The community is invited.
